Every gift makes a significant impact on the McCoy College of Business.  Whether you choose to make a gift of cash, stock, or another asset, you can determine how you would like to support the McCoy College -  whether that be through creating an undergraduate scholarship, graduate fellowship, faculty endowment, research fund, endowment to support our outstanding student organizations, or another area of interest to you.

Gift of Stocks

Gifts of appreciated securities and closely held stock can be extremely beneficial—both to you and to the McCoy College of Business. You may receive an income-tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities, as well as reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes.  To receive instructions on how to make a gift of stock and mutual funds, please contact the McCoy College Foundation office at 512-245-3926. Proceeds from the sale of these assets may directed to any purpose you wish.

Estate & Gift Planning

Gift planning offers you a unique opportunity to leave a legacy gift to the McCoy College of Business through your estate plans. To review sample language to include in your will or trust or to see beneficiary designation language.

Payroll Deductions for Texas State Employees

Once a year during the Family Campaign, the faculty and staff of Texas State University may choose to give through regular installments automatically applied through payroll deduction. All McCoy College Foundation funds are options to support through this campaign.

Make a Pledge

A pledge is an agreement to give a gift to the McCoy College of Business Foundation over a period of time, generally up to five years, with scheduled payments by check or credit card.  If you would like more information about making a pledged gift, please contact Kent Hamilton at 512-245-4358.

Gifts from Donor Advised Funds

If you have already benefited from the immediate tax deduction offered by a donor-advised fund (DAF), you should know that the McCoy College of Business Foundation is an IRS qualified public charity and thus is eligible to receive contributions from your DAF. Please follow the instructions provided by your fund regarding minimum contribution, the process for recommending grants, etc.

IRA Rollover

If you are 70 ½ or older, you may be looking for a unique way to advance the mission of the McCoy College of Business. An IRA charitable rollover gift may also be a way to lower the income and taxes from your IRA withdrawals.  Simply contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to us. Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to the McCoy College of Business Foundation.  As with any gift of your assets, please contact your professional advisor(s) to see how a gift might impact your personal situation.
